Welcome to the Los Angeles Unified online pre-enrollment application portal for new students entering Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten through 12th grade.
LA Unified provides a full-time in-person learning program.
If you are interested in our voluntary, on-line independent study program (City of Angels), please begin by completing the pre-enrollment application for your school of residence or accepted Unified Enrollment school placement. After you complete the pre-enrollment application, please inquire about this option at the school where the pre-enrollment application was submitted. The school will provide you with next steps. If your child is a current L.A. Unified student, who is transferring from a L.A. Unified school to another L.A. Unified school, please contact the school to complete the required forms.

The Student Pre-Enrollment Application section is for new students entering Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten through 12th grade. This section is only for school of residence applications.

If your home address falls in a Zone of Choice area, and you are applying for the first time, please go to the Zone of Choice website to apply for your Zone of Choice school here, https://achieve.lausd.net/ZOC or contact the Zones of Choice office at ZOC@lausd.net
Zones of Choice are geographic areas comprised of multiple school options and students have the opportunity to select and rank the schools within their residential area. Any student residing in a Zone of Choice is eligible to apply. Eligibility is based on home address and the school’s enrollment capacity.
The Unified Enrollment Pre-Enrollment for Accepted Placements section is for new students to L.A. Unified that have applied online, and accepted a placement prior to pre-enrollment. The following programs participate in Unified Enrollment:

    • Admission Criteria Schools
    • Affiliated Charter Schools

  • As a part of this application, you will enter information about the child you are enrolling and will need to upload the following documents *:
    * If you are missing any of these required documents, you may still submit the application, but will need to work with your LAUSD school to complete the Pre-Enrollment process.

    Proof of Residence
    Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
    • Utility service contract, bills or payment receipts (Gas, Water, or Electricity)
    • Property taxes, rental or lease agreement, current rental receipt with address of property on receipt
    • Official government mail (CalWORKS, Social Security, Medi-Cal)
    • Current pay stub
    • Voter registration
    Proof of Age of Minor
    Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
    • Birth certificate
    • Baptismal certificate
    • Passport
    • Court order
    • Health office/vital statistics record of birth certificate date
    • Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) letter verifying birthdate and an explanation of how this was verified
    Parent/Guardian/ Educational Rights Holder/ Caregiver ("parent") Identification
    Please submit one of the following acceptable documents:
    • Student’s birth certificate or baptismal certificate or Court order establishing the parent/guardian relationship AND
    • Adult’s government-issued photo identification (Driver’s license or DMV identification card)
    Proof of Immunization

    If available/applicable you may also submit copies of:
    • Transcripts or recent grade reports
    • Copy of most recent Individual Educational Plan (IEP) or Section 504 Plan
    • Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) 1399 Form or minute order
    • Department of Probation placement information and/or Juvenile Court minute order
    • Court orders regarding legal custody, physically custody, or restricted contact with the school or child
